WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO

Just got back from my SVA retest at Southampton with a BIG FAT MAC in my pocket

Previous thread after failing...
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=61368
I was only there for 35 mins and the car went straight through.
Speedo was taken care of after a call to ETB highlighted that I had the pulses per mile set at 64,300 and not 6,430 (numpty). It now reads roughly
2mph faster than the actual road speed - e.g. when speedo = 40mph, actual road speed = 38mph.
Rivets under the dash were covered with a thin plywood panel cut to shape, painted black and PU'd into place.
Emissions were sorted by a local garage who reset the timing, mixture and carb float heights. 2.8% CO reading at idle with a warm engine. Having it
properly set-up has transformed the car in terms of idle, pick-up and general smoothness
THe harness mounting plates were trimmed with "U" section rubber stuck on with superglue.
DVLA paperwork is completed and will go in the post later today. Only bummer is that I'm off to Germany for work next week, so will have to wait
until after then to get the DVLA inspection done
But hey-ho I've waited nearly 4 years, another 2 weeks won't hurt - too much
Massive thanks to all on LCB who have helped by answering questions - couldn't have done it without you guys!
Congratulations mate.
Just in time for the good weather!
Mike
Well done Nick.
Great feeling isn't it.
Get it inspected, hell of a shakedown test, driving to Germany! Couple of laps of the 'ring on the way home!
Mike
Excellent news Nick !!!!!!
Perfect timing for Spring...

hmmm i wonder what the building with SVA written on it is then?
dock gate 4 is down in the docks by ocean village, its where all the jap import cars come in, so if you picked one up it would probally would of been
this dock. its the one the titanic left from too

Speaking to a guy at the SVA centre who'd bought an EVO import in straight from the docks he said there is a holding area where all the cars go before being collected by the actual importer/owner - maybe there's an SVA office there to deal with the paperwork side of things?
Right DVLA inspection and registration paperwork is in the post recorded delivery and should land with them tomorrow.
God I want to take the car out and show it who's Daddy
Well done Nick.
Have you got a big grin right accross your face.
Hope to see you at the R/R in Pompey, if not before
Cheers
Nige
Hopefully we can get out for a hoon around before the RR day!
...and yes I do have a reet stoopid grin on
Well done nick
You dont have to be there for the inspection, just get someone else to open the garage door.
Its basically the DVLA making sure it exists and the numbers are right on chassis engine.
I was at work when they came to mine so i left the bonnet off and mrs bob let em in.
Isnpection booked for Wed 27/03 at the local VOSA HGV centre - they wouldn't come to me (tight gets)
Looks like it should be sorted pretty soon
