Hi

Cant quite remember from my SVA

but couldnt you just put 94 engine and let SVA man take the engine number on the basis you may never here from them and if you do just act thick and offer to do the cat test

afterall people put little porkies into the DVLA to get a new reg I doubt they ever check up?

Technically if you have a letter as 'proof' that the engine number you have is a '94 engine then he will not check to cofirm otherwise afaik.

Rich.

Yup-as long as your paperwork proves that engine is a 1994 engine they won't bother checking further.....

You do need to be a bit savvy though as the testers are often petrolheads and if you try to SVA an EFi engine as 1994 when it wasn't released until 1996 (or something like that) they'll catch you out... Then you're in big trouble- not only because they'll question your evidence but also they'll likely go over every inch of your car with a fine-tooth comb and be rather pissed off and fail you!!!!
