Do side mirrors need to be E marked for SVA? and must they fold inwards?
cheers Colin
Emark : no.
Fold in : yes
Steve.
cheers my mirrors are right on one of the issues then! need some foldy in ones then
cheers
Just put some Honda Cub ones on until after SVA you can see the whole world through them and they are about £16 a pair,
Steve,
I thought that they only needed to fold in if they stuck out past the widest point of the car. like on your tin top.
I may be wrong though.

According to the SVA manual I have seen 'the criteria [for rotating inwards etc] does not apply to a mirror which does not protrude beyond the
extreme outer edge of the vehicle'. I would assume that the extreme outer edge of the vehicle for a 7 would be the outside of the front and rear
wheel arches. But you might be right to play safe....
On 'E' marking - all mirrors should have 'an acceptable European approval mark OR the characteristics equivalent to a mirror approved
for use on a vehicle of the same category.' In other words provided you have a decent mirror you should be OK w/o an 'E' mark,
although again if you get a mirror with one then so much the better.

I agree with this one also.
I have them on mine at the mo.

ZXR400 copy mirrors on mine, they don't fold in and don't have E marks and passed SVA.
Don't need e-mark, as long as the height and width meet the spec, and the edges are rounded.
Don't need to fold - special rules for seven-style cars as the mirrors aren't the widest point (it's shown VERY clearly in the SVA
manual).
