1988 ZX10 Cat???

right am i right in saying that if i fit a 1988 kawasaki ZX10 engine i will not have to worry about emmisions/cats?

No worries with emmissions but with a 19 year old bike engine, you may have other worries.

No Cat, No worries, these engines are virtually bombproof! Just clean out the small channel thro the water heated manifold (it blocks up & gives you a flatspot due to carb icing) & while the lump is out replace the starter chain (sometimes referred to as alternator chain) as they are a weakness, costs about £12 including the gasket,mine are both still going strong at 34000 & 44000 miles respectively & I've given them some serious abuse!

No cat, but you will still be subject to an emissions test and a visual smoke test.

CO<= 3.5%
HC<=1200ppm
