Hi
need to fit an after market steering wheel prior to SVA as basically I'm too big and fat to fit in the buggy with the Sierra wheel fitted
I understand that the centre spokes of the whhel can't have any holes in it but how can you get around the radius problems?
If anyone can give me some advice as to which type of wheel would be SVA fiendly or how to mod one so it'll pass I'd be grateful.
Thanks
See if you can get hold of a Westfield wheel. They often come up on Ebay.
Or a Mountney wheel with an SVA pad.

Isn't the escort wheel smaller?
where are you, i'm sure someone will lend you one near sva time
I made my own pad which was cable tied onto the steering wheel and got through sva without comment. It was basically a thin sheet of ali with some
confor foam stuck to it and covered in vinyl. The cable ties went between the ali and foam.
Confor foam is the proper stuff for impact protection though. It is rate dependant - ie it squashes easily if you push on it gently but if you hit it
hard it is much harder.
where can I get this confor foam from?
I fitted a pad from an import MX5 - their wheels are similar to Momo jobbies and it clipped over my alloy spokes perfectly. The pad was secured with cable ties and Mr SVA was happy to pass it without comment.
