Morning everyone

Planning on buying rear lights for Indy this weekend at Stoneleigh and would appreciate help.

Planning on fitting Hella lights, the type where you can have a ring around outside, either reflector or LED tail light.

Is there any legal reason I cant have an LED tail light around both the brake and the indicator purely for looks purposes and fit a seperate reflector on each side of the rear panel?

Also does it matter which light is nearest edge of the rear wing, either brake or indicator as I've seen both but could of been altered post SVA

Thanjks for your time and help
Nigel

No reason whatsoever that you can't have LED ring around both the indicator and the brake light. Also it doesn't matter which way round your brake light and indicator are on the wings. You can have your reflectors on the rear panel provided they are within the max distance 400mm ? from widest part of vehicle (usually rear arches)

Here are the positioning requirements visually. I don't see any problem with you plans.

Dont the refelectors (lenses) have to be "E" marked as well?

The positioning and markings are all in the SVA manual. Worth a check before you buy.

However, if you buy from someone like
SVC they wont sell you the wrong bits.

What are you doing for the fog light? I was planning on buying rear lights this weekend too, but I cant decide how best to incorporate the fog...

Yes and no You need two red reflectors e marked (1, or 1A) according to the table in 9.1 Annex 1

Any additional i.e. optional reflectors (as many as you like but not triangular!) have no e marking requirement according to 9.2 Annex

to answer the earlier question regarding the fog light, I was going to position 1 in the centre of the rear panel either above or below the registration plate ensuring of course that it is perpendicular to the ground
