
I’ve been quite happy this week at work, only about one weekend left of work, then test time.
I ordered the new book for something to read at lunch times, and have today got onto the SVA section. It would appear that my SVA knowledge is out of
date.
Section 1.... Two anti theft devices, ignition lock and one other?
Section 4.... Seats fastened to an aluminium floor would probably fail!
Anyone know of anything else which has slyly changed on the SVA in the last few years?

Always been a requirement to have 2 anti-theft devices....
If you attach the seat to an ali floor but use a steel bar between the bolts on the underside (repair washers probably not enough) it will pass.....
As far as I know, if you are using the standard column and ignition lock that counts as two items.
One, the physical steering lock, which can't be operated with the engine running. Two the ignition lock, which means you can't start the
car without the keys.

I could be ok on the seats, inside the car the seats sit on 2 x 100mm wide, 3mm thick steel plates which I put in as load spreaders, I have the same
on the underside to prevent the bolts from 'ripping' trough in the event of an accident.
1.Does the steering lock count as a anti-theft device?
If so, is that not 2, the ignition switch & the steering lock? Or am I being daft.

Is the consensus that I am ok, has my week end of looking for the rouge sharp edge and polishing been restored?

My seats are bolted through an ali floor, I've used a mounting plate to strengthen where the bolt goes through.
I passed the anti theft with just the sierra steering lock and key
as above your ok mate
steering lock and key = 2 forms of security
two strips of steel going under seats is fine
I presume the two strips are welded to the rest of the chassis
although also use big load washers for your seat bolts

I think you'll find that SVA man is concerned with an ally floor and seats with integral belts - a def no-no.
