Vincent the Vindicator passes SVA...
vindicator - 30/8/07 at 07:30 PM

Just to let you know that Vincent passed the SVA this morning with flying colours.

From two weeks ago with 13 minor failures, one thought that he would not pass.

Thanks to you all for giving me advice and just being on here.

To others, just keep plodding away and you will get there and hope to see you on the road shortly....

regards

TimR

You don't need an MOT to register!!!!!!!!!
If you do get one then you'll need one every year instead of in 3 years

I drove from the SVA centre round the corner to the new VOSA office. Took a ticket and waited in the que. A nice lady came round checking all the paperwork and said that I needed two forms of id (which I forgot anyway) and a MOT. The car was parked outside on the trailer and they could see it thru the windows....

Her in doors completed all the paper work as she is use to filling them in on a daily basis and she thinks we neded an MOT...

I am begining to think I have missed up somewhere......I have looked thru old posts on here and it seems as we don't need one....

Have used the engine and gearbox from an old kitcar (Have no other details) and the other major parts from an old sierra which has been scrapped and we have the log book.

you do not need MOT. it is newly registered and will require MOT after 3 years.

put your foot down and aks her where it states you need MOT.

Or have a browse on DVLA website about registering a car and print off relevant pages, ideally those that say you don't need MOT.
