Hi, i need your help!
i'm trading for a locost bec and to register this car in italy i need:
- MOT valid

the seller hasn't the specifications of the car, where i can find this document? from the manufacturer?

The seller should be able to give you the specifications quite easily, such as component manufacturers etc, etc. Once you know these, you could quite
easily do the rest yourself and type a specification sheet up. Obviously it involves a bit of work for the seller but to some extent, should be
already included in the advert. (That is, if it's been advertised)

PS. Here is an example of our vehicle specification

Not sure what you mean by spec is relevant to taking a car to italy. Do you need to fill in a specific form and therefore need certain data?
Im asking in case all they need is engine capacity, age, emissions data etc or if you mean type of engine, any mods, brake system, chassis type,
approvals proof, transmission, tyres, wheels, fancy bodywork bits etc etc (as you would see in an advert for such a car.
I dont think there is an official detailed spec sheet in UK. Maybe just one that an owner would create on non-official paper.
i need a document made by the manufacturer with all data of the car, so with all you said: engine capacity, age, emissions data etc or if you mean
type of engine, any mods, brake system, chassis type, approvals proof, transmission, tyres, wheels, fancy bodywork bits etc etc

The problem you will encounter, is that a specific manufacturer did not build the vehicle. As you've stated, it's a Locost BEC. Therefore
the only manufacturers part that will have more than a few detailed specifications is the engine. The best you can do, is find the engine make and
model and serial number and get the manufacturer to send you a detailed specification of the engine.

many thanks, and are there company that do this document in place of the manufacturer?
In theory the builder/seller or you could say that you are the manufacturer and therefore genertae your own specification sheet for the vehicle.

There isnt anyone i can think of. i know with my engine i sent the engine number off to Ford and they confirmed engine age but nothing else.
With a locost the manufacture is the person who built the car and as such any spec sheet could be generated by them on a computer. With that in mind
you could probably do the same if you get the details. The question is wether this would be accepted by the Italian authorities.
All i can suggest is talking to your equivalent of DVLA (or whoever else would be the recipient of your paperwork) and ask them for advice. Im
wondering if they may have another form to fill in with respect to amateur built vehicles. Only other option is if their are any people in Italy who
have built and registered a locost or similar and find out what they did.
In Uk DVLA has a detailed website for such things and pdf format documents that you can download and submit. Do you have anything similar you can look
into?
