how do they do what year your car reg will be

Not sure if its the same over here but i am wondering how they give what reg the car is and what factors it is based on.

If you use the above search option for " age related " it should show up more than a few previously answered queries. I noticed a couple on the first search page that were very applicable.

q plate or age related plate - age related will be same year as the donor.

Or new if you can convince the dvla that all the parts you are using were new, it's just that they went rusty 'cause you took so long to build it !

whats the difference they make to insurance and tax on the car. Sorry im not sure what a q plate is we go by year and thats it i think. Pre 78 is tax free i think.

No idea how it works in Southern Ireland, the who system looks different. Unless you register in Northern Ireland and then drive down, but even that is going to cause problems I suspect.
