Hi all, i'm sure its been asked before but i can't find what i need. Basically how much info/ paperwork do i need to prove the legality of the parts used?

Im going to build a bec midi with my own tubular chassis.

I have a 96 Blade thats been mine for around 6 years and never sorned (never had a letter to do it and its been unsighted in the back of my pit of despair/garage for about 5yrs). I would like to sell the frame/etc.. with the V5 now to help with some funds. Whats the best plan?

I have a Scorpio for a few bits. My mate is taking the car away for the cossie lump and returning the bits i need to me. What do i do? Do i just technicaly sell him the car and keep a copy of the V5 or what? Or just a receipt that he signs for the bits he returns? It will be broken and scrapped but i dont want the hassle of cutting off numbers and the like.

I kept a copy of the log book with my name on it and told them I had sold it on. no problems registering it.

I was told I put in too many receipts they only want the major components - 45 was way too many!

If you want an age-related plate you'll need the V5 from either the car or bike. If you're just going for a Q plate then you don't really need anything, although proof of ownership of the engine might be useful in the unlikely event someone thinks you nicked it!

I just saved everything in a ring-binder, and handed it over to the DVLA man when he called. It was a heap around 2" thick!

He browsed through it for a couple of minutes, asked me to find the engine receipt, then handed them back.

No harm in keeping everything - can't complain then, can they...
