eccsmk - 27/1/08 at 01:35 PM

im using the zx12 speedo and the trip switches sit behind the fibreglass which is sharpe edged
and the speedo and rev counter stick out proud of the dash,
would it be ok to stick a perspex cover over it all even tho the perspex would sit 3 to 5 mm proud of the dash??
ill post a piccy when my battery for camera has charged

forgive the mess its half way through and as i can only supervise it isnt my mess !!

As long as the perspex has the appropriate radius on it I see no reason why it shouldn't be ok.
If it's behine the steering wheel it should be no problem.

it is in the centre of my dash so unfortunately only half the speedo is covered by the sva proof area doh
if i put u-trim around the perspex and will that be ok?
thanks again

Personally I can't say I like the look but it should be ok, are allof your switches SVA ok?

eccsmk - 28/1/08 at 08:51 PM

the switches to the right are inside the "safe" area.
as soon as it is tested i'll bin the perspex
thank you for your replies you've helped no end

perhaps profile shape of perspex to more closely match layout of clocks ??? say, trace a line around clocks, then offset said line by 5mm or so ??? And round edges of perspex.

The easiest way I see of making this SVA proof is to not have the clocks protrude through the dash but to space them at the back so they are flush with the dash. You can for extra measure, fit the perspex flat on the dash with some clear double sided tape, just make sure that the perspex edges are radius'd. I think radius depends on the thickness of perspex but not sure.
