Has anybody got the max power revs handy for a 5VY R1 engine?
Also what did you put for Q11. "...date the vehicle was made...?"

For my ZX10R I used 10,000 rpm. Year of manufacture is 2008 as I am going to try and register as new
I'm sure you can be a bit clever with the answer to that question, as the noise test or emission test is a x% of the max bhp rpm..... search for it I'm sure I have read it on here that you can be a little flexible with the truth to make it easier come sva day.
You can be a little bit sly with the max bhp rpm but if you try suggesting an engine capable of 14k produces max power at 6k they'll see
you're taking the micky....
Of course the answer is to be totally honest in your max rpm bhp answer but have an over-reading tachometer (like the infinitely adjustable Racetech
one I've got!!) so that the noise test (done at 75% max power IIRC) is actually done at just over tick-over

Having twin pipes helps
because they only ever measure from one side of the car and half the noise will be shooting off in the opposite direction!! I think with twin side
pipes and an over-reading tachometer my car measured about 90dB!!
My examiner checked my tacho and said it was'nt accurate enough. Test was carried out using there electronic clip on tacho.
