OK so it's almost finished and although I asked this question originally it bears repeating.
I bought it from Robin Hood Engineering unregistered as a "part built, unfinished F27 kit car".
Before I pitch in and ask DVLA the question is if it has a Formula 27 chassis plate will it need SVA or straight to registration?
It was a rolling chassis c/w body panels etc, so was substantially complete. I've added brake lines, changed the front suspension but
substantially it's the same car as bought.
Any opinions welcome.

what is it registered as, I mean the description on the log book
assuming that it has a log book...........................if not it's the SVA for you

If the car came with a V5 and it says its a Formula 27 then just get MOT and your off.
If theres no V5 or it says Ford or Escort or something like that then SVA is required.
Mr. Whippy - didn't come with a log book - must have been "lost" by RH or they bought it as part- built to see how it was done. Cheers,

Has it got a registration number?

Maybe I'm being dense here (nothing unusual there then) but...
It's an un-registered kit car that you bought unfinished. So, unless it had somehow already got a MAC certificate, it needs an SVA to get one.
Or have I missed something?

Hopefully you finshed the build with SVA compliance in mind?
John
No registration at all but finished with SVA in mind.
As I understand it SVA is for self-build cars. This one wasn't built by me and from the receipt its heritage is with Robin Hood Cars Ltd.
Sounds as if I need to talk to DVLA.
Thanks for the opinions guys.

Hi PeWe don't think there's any way round it . there are several optional descriptions on the SVA aplication form including one that says
you have bought it unfinished but so long as it was ametuer build it is still your baby if you finish it
