Took the car for and SVA yesterday. Got there this time
(Previous post ... I Broke Down
) I thought the car would fail on emissions , noise
and the speedo. I didn't have chance to get it to the local garage to check the emissions so was very surprised when it passed. It was right on
the limit with the noise level but scraped through. The speedo was spot on... well out by 1mph
Failed on a couple of things...bit annoying
really. Here's a list:
MK Nose cone back edge - Radius
SVA friendly headlamps....no so SVA friendly... radius edge
MAC 1 Dash... passenger side back edge, needed U trim on.
Back edge of the Steering cowl needed U Trim on.
And last was the fuel tank breather... needed a loop in it.
All in all was very happy and it's going back tomorrow to have the bit's re tested. Martin at the test center was spot on, really helpful
and offered great advice.
So hopefully should be on the road in a couple of weeks
Cheers
Adam
Why the loop in the breather (migh be somthing I'd better do..)
Dan
Good luck with the retest. Strange about the "SVA" headlights !!

He said if you over fill the tank there was no way of stopping the fule coming out the breather. You can fit a one was valve in it but he said this
was the easiest/cheapest way of doing it. The loop acts like an Air trap.

Should be easy fix. Good luck with the retest.

Back edge of the nose cone just needs a little rub down with emery cloth to create a 2.5mm radius about 15secs rubbing each side i had to do that on
the day of my test
Like you say they are very helpfull im just glad i took everything plus kitchen sink on the day to cover the bits that i missed ps i had to trim the
mk dash which is same as mac1 dash lower edge on the passenger side
or you could get a 1 way fuel breather and put that on the end of the pipe. not cheap though
