I'm using a 2007 Audi RS4 engine in my build.
I've had to do a lot of work to block off the FSI injection ports and make new intake manifolds, etc. The engine will be classified as being
'reconditioned'.
The kit I'm using has no 'donor' element.
So, what are the emissions / noise requirements based on?
Does it have to be the same as what the original engine figures were in the RS4, or is there a nominal kit car figure to conform to?
Does it require cat's?
You will need to meet the standard for the year of manufacture of your engine, so yes, you will need cats.
This is why so many Ultima and Cobra owners fit those ghastly small block chevys, as they are built up on pre 76 (or whatever it is) blocks

SVA test criteria are:
Emissions:
Fast idle : HC 200pp, CO 0.30%, Lamda 0.97 - 1.03
Natural : CO 0.50
Off the top of my head noise is set at 101dbs
As your engine is new it will need to follow the above.
PS can anyone verify the above as the tester wrote this on the back of my form in spider handwriting

It's standard to all post'95 engines.

Is this 'standard' the figures for a 2007 Audi RS4, or is it a set standard for all 2007 engines?
Cheers
Nope - no cats... will probably just buy some from the Bay of E!
I generally steer clear of pikey's - they're dangerous!
