FEZ1025 - 22/8/08 at 07:01 AM

He's one for the oldies who can remember Dutton Phaeton's, been offered an unregistered part build, can anyone think of any gotcha's as to why it wouldn't go through an SVA or possibly IVA.

Cheers

Alan...

I built one. A mark 2. There is no particular reason why one could not be built to SVA standards that I can remember (We are going back quite a long way here)

PROBLEM!!!!

I read the new IVA has rules against ugly cars

LOL!

I was just thinking the same.

Just make sure the SVA tester has a strong heart before you show them the car

Makes no financial sense to spend money SVAing a Dutton when they are available registered for the same money as the test fee.

You would need to spend a small fortune getting one to pass SVA and at the end of the day it will still have a Dutton price tag and not be worth the money and effort you will have put into it.

Don't pay more than a £1000 and don't spend more than £500 on doing it up and you will have some good cheap fun.
