
well, finally got to sva,
almost gave up before hand as car wouldn't go on to, then not actually fit on trailer, had to then take silencers off!
note: next time load car in daytime!
trailer lights packed up, not funny at 5 in morning, loose wire in trailer plug caused that
got to sva centre feeling stressful but byron was brilliant really helpful, friendly and chatty, (would definately recommend Exeter), BUT TAKE
CAKES!!!
he was very complimentary about the build which was reassuring
failed on 9 points, 5 we could have fixed there and then but as our indicators were not close enough to outside edge we were going to fail, my fault,
didn't check that the back is slightly wider than the front!
for all those interested. the list is
1) front indicators - more than 400mm in from outside edge of body
2) headlight beam need adjustment
3) front wheel arch not fully covering wheel rim (when viewed from above)
4) front brake pipes fouling on full lock
5) suspension lock nuts, need to change a couple
6) front/rear brake balance, too much rear braking force
7) bias bar not locked
(6+7, need to check pedal box as ours didnt look right in regard to how and where the lock nuts go
8) park break, no free play
9) steering geometry incorrect, this was supposed to have been set by local tyre centre !! need to go and have a word with them about that! i know i
should have spotted that but doing these things after work and the car is finished and waiting outside in the dark...
although its a fail, am really happy there was nothing serious to worry about
fingers crossed , will be back for a pass soon
Hmmm not too bad. Well done for getting that far I'm sure it wont be long til its all sorted- at least the 'not knowing' bit is passed
and you have a list to work to. Whats with the 'parking brake no free travel' bit? is the handbrake supposed to go on a notch or 2 before it
starts operating or something??

Not too bad really, So, your fail for not covering the rim - I wasn't sure how you worked out what minimum size was ok - so as long as it covers the rim it passes that particular bit of the test?
That's a good fail list - nothing fundamental to correct and probably sorted within a week or so.
Be on the road ready for the Indian summer we're going to enjoy then 
ess, not bad fail at all
not doubting myself too much but its still good to know it wasn't considered a "scrapper"
handbrake just needs adjusting, he managed to hit the stop when pulling on handbrake
i misread the manual, the wheel arch must set to cover the whole of the wheel rim when viewed from above, so will move them around and get some mud
flaps
driving around the sva centre was the first time to actually drive it "properly" - no other traffic around!

Byron is a great bloke with a good sense of
humour, instead of being a worrying day, he made it a very relaxed and pleasant trip
