well it looks like i have fallen foul of the same problem from the video link the other day.
Recieved a notice from the DVLA fining me £80 because i have apparently failed to sorn the donor car!
Obviously the DVLA failed to correctly scrap the old car......
will pop in to see them on monday with the evidence!
I am sure it ill be easily sorted out but.... come on people! they dont exactly do themselves any favours do they!
Dave,
It really does fall into the "haven't you people got anything better to do" category!
I've had two of these in the past. One was for not knowing that you have to re-sorn a car each year and the other was like yours when I had
scrapped a donor and they wanted a sorn for it.
They didn't put up much of a fight and I didn't pay either of them - does get your blood boiling though
good luck on Monday though
Steve
could be a case of emailing your MP
had exactly the same with DVLA worcester, phoned the number, was advised to write in, wrote a letter explaining what had happened, and without
accusing them, made their combined incompetence obvious. A week later I had a letter telling me 'on the this occasion we will not take any
further action'.....
Hope yours works out the same!
I was quite surprissed that a couple of weeks after we got our car registered I recieved a letter from DVLA thanking me for informing them that I had scrapped the donor. I had not even done a thing with it and it must have been the local DVLA office at Sidcup. I was going to do it when the SORN renewal came thorough. Seems like there is something else they all do differently.
