Morning all
On the advice of several people looked into getting the local DVLA to do their inspection on the same day as the SVA (next Monday)
Went round to the office only to find over 50 people standing waiting, can't be bothered so back to the office and try to ring. Main office
won't put me through as apparently an inspection isn't mandatory and until the forms are submitted they won't know.
So it looks like I'm going to have to go down tomorrow armed with the forms which of course aren't fully completed only to probably be told
we can't do anything until you have the coverted MAC.
So as they won't do home visits that'll be another muck around trying to get the car to DVLA for them to look at and sods law I'll have
to queue with the masses just to let them know I'm there for the inspection.
I can see this is going to be real fun!!

Nigel,
Unfortunately Chester DVLA local office wont book you an appointment for inspection until you have your MAC certificate.
The guy who deals with amateur built vehicles & carries out the inspection, (Paul) is only there on a Tuesday & Wednesday, he is inspecting
mine tomorow (Pre booked with him last week)
I suggest if you pass SVA on Monday then to just turn up on Tuesday morning with the paperwork & car. Just take a ticket to be seen but let them
know when you arrive you would like to see Paul as he is not usually on the counter.
He will usually process your application & inspect there and then.
He insists that the car must be trailered there though & you cannot drive it.
Regards,
Lee.

Thanks for the info. Just Sat in DVLA and basically got the same info and duplicate forms so at least I can have a practice!!
Good luck tomorrow you'll have to let me know how it goes, can you take the trailers vehicle into the barriered car park or do you need to park
in a public park car park at the Roodee?
Cheers
Nigel
Guess things may have changed in the last few years but Chester DVLA came out to mine in Crewe in 2006.
Booked over the phone and came around the following week.
10 mins in the garage looking over the paper work, quick chat and all done.
