DVLA inspection
pewe - 31/10/08 at 10:42 AM

So far so good. Visited the local office yesterday and completed the paperwork.
As expected it needs inspecting.
Any thoughts as to preparation for that?
Presumably the car as it stands is sufficient plus receipts etc.?
I've already let them have four pages of build progression with jobs itemised and the source of the components.
Anything else to consider?
Now here's a nonsense - VOSA will allow you to drive it there before SVA.
Despite the fact it's now passed SVA DVLA insist on it being trailered for inspection. Can't quite get my head around that nonsense.
Cheers, Pewe

They will check the paperwork, inspect the engine and chassis number, make sure they tally then take your money with a smile and your on the road.

Well, thats what happened to me

odd the police came round to mine and we had a bit of a yap about cars, quick look over the engine and chassis number and then off they went.

They didn't get out of their car, just sat in it waiting. 2 cars arrived for inspection, the inspector did the checks and the police just left.

Try and get a home inspection, Brighton did mine at home took all of 5 minutes.
