eddie - 16/11/03 at 11:56 AM

i'd love to have a go at making my own flash animations, but:

1, i've never tried before, so i'd like to know are they relatively easy?

2, is there any free software on the net i can download to make them?

cheers for any help in advance....

Dreamweaver is available if you do a search for software and a serial number too.

If you pm me I have an older version on cd but it is very large and will take ages to download via an email, also due to the size your service provider may not allow it on there server.

So it may be easier for me to copy the cd and post it.

The help is very good and you will soon be up and running

You will need Macromedia Flash. Dreamweaver is their website development and management tool.

Simple flash animations are not difficult. It's even easy to add some simple buttons for some interactivity. There are myriads of tutorials free on the net.

Flash is an amazing product. I love it and hate it. And I use it all the time.

Email me off-list and I will give you a link to download a 'demo' copy of the latest version. Flash MX 2004 I'm using the word 'demo' loosely, if you get my drift.

Although you can't use flash animation on avatars (can you?) you need a product like Ulead Gif Animator which I used to create our avatar. Flash uses vectors to keep file size down but quality up, gif's obviously don't. Good luck - it ain't as easy as you may first think!!! Which you already know due to your avatar!!!
