Vosa and reciepts

Just about ready to send of the old forms/piccies and reciepts (copies).

Some of you have been speaking about having to sign/validate the reciepts as copies of originals.
What have you written on the? is it just a case of "I joe bloggs certify this as a copy of the original" or something different.?

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Just write "certified copy" & then sign - I've just been for SVA & they were fine with that. They only want receipts for major items ie donor vehicle or engine/gearbox/axle, kit chassis or steel receipts, bodywork, wheels, maybe dash, fuel tank, steering wheel, but not every nut bolt & washer

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

They sent me a letter saying i had to put "certified copy" on them and sign them when i did mine because i had just sent copies of reciepts without signing them as i didnt know you had to.

Make sure you do them all.

Here's my stupid post of the day - Is this for SVA application or DVLA registration. This is different to the receipts required for a new reg?

James, this is for SVA, they now ask for receipts as proof of amateur build, you'll need them again for DVLA I believe.

Sorry to jump on your thread, but where would you stand if your bought an unfinished build(yes I have) and only have a single receipt for the whole thing, is this going to cause me a massive headache?
Thanks
Col

There is a section on the SVA paperwork asking if yours is, basically a part self build i.e. someone else built some. I can't remember the exact wording but I would presume you ticked this option rather than the complete self build option. I would then presume that they would accept that you wouldn't have all receipts.

One important point is that the big difference between amateur built & pro is that all pro builds have the Cat test irrelevant of engine age - if you have a post '95 engine you'll be Cat tested anyway so it doesn't really matter. If you have an earlier engine & want to avoid the Cat test then it all comes down to being able to prove the whole car has been amateur built, if the project you bought came with a load of build pics which are obviously in an ordinary household garage rather than a pucca workshop then your fine as long as you take more pics along the way, if you've not got this proof you need receipts for either chassis or steel to build it, a donor car or separate receipts for eng/gearbox/axle etc, wheels, seats, fuel tank, brake lines etc - they don't want every receipt - I provided them with about 15 which they were happy with, but they want receipts for the major items or pics to prove amateur build status.
