DVLA F****d Up

Well after handing in the paperwork and getting an appointment for the inspection in reasonable time I had a call from Chelmsford DVLA today, as requested, telling me everything was finished and I could call in and pick up the tax, Number plate authorisation etc. I rushed arround, drove the 1hr to the office, jumped the que and was given an envelope which I opened there and then. Lovely all there and in and out in less than 5mins, lets get plates made and Tim and I can go out for a run this evening.

I called at a local factors where I was handed a set of plates with a different number to the tax disc, lo and behold DVLA had hand written the wrong Reg. no on the Plate Authorisation Cert. There followed an argument in the factors because I refused to pay for the plates as he wouldn't give them to me as the number was wrong and he wouldn't do me a set with the correct number because he needed the Authorisation Cert.

So I rang the stupid Swansea call center number and after 20mins spoke to a human being who eventually agreed to get Chelmsford to call me saying it would probably be in 1 and 2 hrs time, yea right it's already 4.15 and they close at 5.00 but lo and behold 15mins later Chelmsford ring and they will fax me the correct authorisation.
Whats the chances of Halford (as I can't go to the factors and see Mr Jobsworth now) accepting that this eve and put the original in the post tomorrow.

ahhhhhhhh we just want to drive the bl***y thing now after a manic 2 months building.

Sorry, take deep breath, rant over.

Nick
