Local Magistrates - punishment fits the crime??
Local rag has man given curfew, tag, six months driving ban(?) and NO fine for:
1. Failing to stop at the scene of an accident
2. Driving whilst disqualified.
3. Driving without insurance.
4. Using a vehicle without a test certificate.
5. Driving without due care and attention.
6. Failing to answer and surrender to police bail.
Great huh!

alistairolsen what did you get done for driving without due care and attention or dangerously.
Did the police say you were speeding?

Dangerous driving.
yes, it was an NSL single track and they claimed I was doing 80+mph at times and passing (imaginary) pedestrians and dogs without slowing down. they
said they slowed to 65mph to pass said pedestrians lol.
The whole thing was a farce, I turned off with a car behind me and drove up the road as i normally would (limit of visibility) they couldn't
keep up, then put on blues once they had lost visual contact. I turned off after 1.5 miles and they 'chased' m for another 15.

Surely you could have called this imagenary pedestrian as a wintess. Anyway how did they know you were doing 80+ if they could not see you.

This is the real problem... some occasionally do their nuts when they hear of the odd sentence that in some opinions is unduly harsh, but the reality
is that the majority of sentences are unduly lenient because our (put on whining liberal voice) "jails are too crowded'!
Built more bloody jails then! God knows the Government wastes money all the time, why not put it to use! Make the in-mates work too - have them
fashion shiny carbon bits for free distribution to kit-car owners.
Oh, and forgot to say... HANG 'EM! (twice!).

Mango, you might have got this wrong - perhaps it is only to encourage wildlife conservation:

you get left standing there with "thats not what really happened, theyre making it up" as your only defence.
Bottom line is when two professionals in uniform with "advanced driver training" decide to stitch you up youve had it either way!
