do i need to put brackets or fixings for number plate?
hi gettin the car ready for iva, i have the rear number plate light in place but do i need to drill the holes for the fixings , or make some brackets
for the front one?

agreed nope no need just make sure your numberplate light comes on with the sidelights

Beg to differ - on the front one IIRC there was talk of it needing supporting brackets i.e. could be attached directly to the nose on the top edge but
required support on the lower edge. Must be somewhere in the regs.

my mk passed IVA with no front mounting brackets
there is no legal requirement to have one on the front if there is no mounting area for it

Bizzarely, if you fit brackets, you'll probably fail IVA because of the radius issue!
Best leave till after IVA.
I originally wanted to fit some dummy plates to mine for its SVA, but was told by DVLA that this was worse than having none fitted at all!
