DB Killers

Does anyone have any reccomendations for DB Killers

I have a GSXR 1000 can on my Pinto powered roadster. I was thinking of something like this BAFFLE DB KILLER SUIT ANY 2' (51mm) ANGLED EXHAUST CAN | eBay

Has anyone used these and do they work?

Cheers

Dave

I put one on my R1 Fury before doing a track day at Bedford (v strict).

It didn't really seem to make it much quieter just raspy and REALLY strangled the performance. I just backed off a bit near the sound level meters around the track...

the proper dB dawgs don't kill the performance too much (at least it didn;t on by crf450r), and do knock it down a few dB's, but to be honest the proper solution is a decent end can.

Someone on here makes excellent alu ones with really quality wadding... I want to say the user name is 701...not sure. Sure someone will be along soon to confirm.

But a decent repackable end can is the way to go in my opinion

Thanks the replys guys.

I remember on one of our BECs we had a (wish i could remember the make) bike can that had twin outlets on it and it came with a range of DB killers you could fit to the twin outlets - start with them all out and then gradually add them until you passed the test. Used to get about 10-15db off the readings. I was wondering if anyone had used these unviersal jobbies.

I know I should really get a proper repackable can but being tight I couldn't resist this one as it was only £20 delivered

I popped one of these in my exhaust and it had very clear effects on my turbo. Basically the overboosting problems went away (this isn't actually a good thing, but was useful at the time).

They are useful to keep in the toolkit when you are going to a track-day to maybe avoid a completely wasted day, but they aren't really an alternative to a decently sized silencer.
