SVA front indicator position

Can anyone help me with the position of the front indicators? Where do they take the side measurements from? The manual says the indicators have to be within 400 mm of the side opf the car but I am not clear what they regard as the 'side'. They say to disregard the tyres so is it from the side of the chassis?

Thanks

Gary

Width of car

Remember if the rear of the car is wider than the front, the front indicators must be postioned and measured from the widest point , Out side edge of the rear wings
