fuel filler pipe
does anyone know the regulations regarding where the fuel filler pipe is located. does it have to be a flush/suitably rounded filler cap on the
exterior surface, or could i make do with a cap on top of a pipe inside the boot?
thanks for any help

Are you talking SVA / MOT? If so as long as the filler cap seals properly and (if external) passes the radius requirements, and passes the requirement
re reducers to stop people putting diesel in the car you're fine.... My filler cap is only accesible once you take off the rear tonneau....
For race-purposes things get a little bit different. I know for one thing that you can't, for example, (at least with the 750MC) have the filler
cap attached to flexible bodywork and the tank attached to the chassis. The thinking is that if the car crashes and the bodywork flexes it'll
rip the filler hose off the tank. Which isn't good when the car is upside down... ask my bro- it's his crash @ Mallory that make this rule
change!!!!!

It really is worth getting the manual - either giving vosa some money
(here)
or at a pinch using the dodgy pdf of the draft. (here)
