SVA and pictures
I've been reading that you need to get pictures of the kit car while building it to the sva person?
What happens when you buy a rolling chassis? How many pictures do you need to have to keep SVA people happy? Obviously, i can assume that fitting a
wheel in place is not enough.
Has anyone had any experience in such an occasion?

I completed (well rebuilt) a part built kit but provided loads of "body off" pictures that looked very work in progress.
I also contacted the builder who kindly supplied me with some pics in an even less complete stage.
Even if the above isnt possible the average DVLA inspector wont know what to look for. Pics of a rolling chassis I would have thought would be fine.
Take the wheels off and put it up on axle stands for some pics if you like.
The main thing they are trying to prevent is commercially built cars being passed off as amateur built vehicles as they would then have to go through
a more expensive ESVA.

When you apply for SVA then VOSA will request build pictures and reciepts. They want them to prove you've built it. There's also a romour
that they don't like to see a profesional workshop in the background; This isn't the case as it was obvious that I'd built mine at
work and some of the reciepts had my company name and address on them (I'd even invoiced myself for some stuff that was ex-stock).
I didn't have any from before it was rolling. I just sent in loads with plenty from obscure angles/close-ups. They came back in less than a week
with a note of thanks.
edit...
When it came to DVLA/registration, I supplied reciepts for major compoments with the paper work. At inspection I took along a very untidy file with
all the other stuff and offered to show them but she took one look at the bundle and declined. Just asked that it was for my personal use and not to
be sold on. That could be because I made no secret of being in the motor trade.

I didn't get asked for any photos or receipts - though I took the receipts file to both SVA and the DVLA.

just been through it myself!!
Vosa man in Swansea office was helpful, but the sight of another locost in one of my build pics had him salivating at the thought that he'd
caught me out and I was a pro builder!!
At the SVA I was asked about pics, including some of the lower seatbelt mounts now panelled in. I asked him if he asked to them on imports needing
sva! Bare chassis pics would be well recieved-
