If you SVA as a single seater then it'll be a single seater on the paper work. Are you going to declare it as single seat on the DVLA paperwork?

possibly.
again, it was a race chassis, all the seat mounting points and belt mounts are in for the driver seat, but not for passenger seat, though it does have 5mm plate in the floor where a passenger seat could be mounted. just not seat belts mounts. just wondered if in the future i could have the papers changed, like with DVLA or something?

I would tackle this right now. At this moment it's just a small job, if you want to do it after the car is legalised, it will be more difficult (welding, paperwork, tests, etc.).

If you don't have the GBP's to get a seat, maybe borrow one?

As maartenromijn says, its easier to do it all now and remove the parts after SVA. Your car will then be classed as a 2 seater but you can just remove one of the seats to make it a single seater

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?
