IVA external edge testing

A question about the external projection test with the sphere.

IIRC the SVA said from the front, but the IVA is from any angle. Is the "any angle" exterior going in to the car or can it be something like in from the front then worm it around a bit to get to the uprights.

What I'm thinking of is the inner edges of the sierra uprights. If they can go in there I guess I need to get Mr Angry grinder out and round off all the edges of the uprights.

On advice, I ground the edges of the Sierra uprights around where the track rod end fit. I found that the other sections of the uprights were out of reach of the ball due to the callipers and the wing stays. I also covered some flat bar sections of the wing stays with edging strip so they had a good radius.

What I failed on was the headlight mountings. These are the typical 7 inch round headlights and although front was protected by the indicator the back and sides was not.

Also watch out as it can also be inside the car around the leg area as well.

Hope it helps

Adrian

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.
