Two will this pass Questions pls
As title
1) The 2" hose between filler cap and tank has printed on it
" for the purpose of oil delivery"
I have no paper work, will he acept the above or do I need to shell out yet more cash on some with paper work.
2) My front brake T is on a post and the pipes span 40mm max to the rail where they are cliped every 52mm.
I read some one had failed for a brake line spanning between two rails.
Whats your opinion ?

I think both should be OK.
I presume the tee is for the front brakes. Why did you do the split there and not on the front axle line?

Petrol is more agressive than oil.
The testers aren`t experts, if it says oil it doesn not specify petrol they will err on the side of caution.
Is it worth the risk of a £100 retest for 2" of hose?

The brake pipes should be okay.
The fuel hose will be fine unless the inspector asks for proof that it is suitable for petrol. As Darren said above, petrol is more severe than oil at
attacking materials. On my SVA test, the tester didn't ask for any proof that my fuel hose was suitable but I did have paperwork available to
show the stuff I ordered was fuel hose.
Can't you order some proper fuel hose and if it arrives in time then fit it and if it doesn't arrive in time then just show the inspector
the printed order form. I would only suggest this if you are 100% committed to actually fit the proper hose when it arrives, I would not suggest
misleading an IVA/SVA inspector under any other circumstances because these guys are your safety net.

I got the MPH2F 51mm hose which is just short of £1 per inch.

I just put some petrol in mine today actually and it's quite nice to know that you've used the right stuff and that it won't dribble
fuel all over the place for a good many years at least... Also, no smells of petrol to make you nervous when out and about.
When is the IVA? When I did mine, the SVA tester noticed very early on that I had spent time doing little jobs like this correctly and commented a
number of times that, "it's not going to take long to finish this test". I wasn't sure what he meant at the time but after I
got the MAC certificate he said that he can tell within a few minutes whether a car is going to pass or not and rarely is his first impression
misleading. Perhaps that's why he didn't even ask me for proof that my fuel hose was the proper stuff. He probably saw the thick wad of
receipts and the 2000 or so photo's of the build which I had available for him to see on my laptop computer and decided I had a clear
conscience. The only thing he checked was the seatbelt anchorages which I showed him on my computer were fully welded 3mm steel with captive welded
S-grade nuts.

I havnt really planned on the iva yet but I have an airfield day in just over three weeks and want to shake the car down. I want it finished as its
been on the go five or six years now.
After the shake down it should be just a case of doing all the edges.
