DVLA Inspection...the saga continues!!!!

Great, just hauled my car to the test centre at Watnall just north of Nottingham (85 mile round trip) for the THIRD time this afternoon.

First two were sva and sva retest, no problems at all.

At the retest the DVLA inspector was present at the station, and as he was unoccupied for an hour or so I asked if he could inspect my car, but without going into all the detail, basically thje answer was no.

I took out insurance, went to the VRO office, sorted the paperwork with them, and they told me I had a two week wait for the DVLA inspection.

Well, just had that, and, as predicted, it took about 2 minutes, and amazingly, einstein decided I needed a Q plate, well that was a great surprise!!!

I now have to wait until "some time next week" to get my reg (actually a phone call to tell me its ready for collection) and how do i predict that the phone call won't happen, I have no way of contacting them and will have to brave the swansea switchboard again.

I eventually cajoled the inpector into phoning me with my reg number, which i now have, but no tax and not actually registered yet, plus no paperwork.

I can get plates made no problem, tomorrow morning, but I guess I'm still not technically legal to drive it!!!

Count yourself lucky - took me a month just to get the reg!!!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

I can't understand it - They were pretty good leading up to the inspection for me but they have been useless since - Still nothing in the post today and they've told me it's sat on a desk ready! What is so difficult about updatng a computer, picking a reg no., filling in a tax disk and one form and then putting it in an envelope?...
