SVA Lead time?
Hi
Just thinking about the SVA.
I'm going to apply at Gillingham.
What sort of time should I allow from when I send off the forms to the SVA test itself?
I know it needs to be in before the end of Jan to avoid the cutoff for the IVA.
Was thinking of sending the forms off now, although I'm not quite finished.
Opinions please
David

My understanding was that they ain't taking any more bookings after the end of Jan to clear the backlog of SVA appointments before the IVA comes
in.
If I'm wrong then Yippee
Thought I only had a few weeks before It had to be in..

Question..
Did you send of your paper work 3 weeks ago to get a date of 6th Jan?
Making total 8 weeks from sending it off to test date.

You're right end of Feb
Knew I read somewhere it was before end of March.
Thought it was Jan.
That does make me feel a little less pressed now !!

Worth sending off the amateur build declaration with the application form. I sent off my SVA form with 6 weeks to go before a specific date I wanted
(had taken the day off as annual leave) and after 3 weeks they sent the form asking me to confirm amateur build status!!!)... Still got the date
though.....

I think there is going to be a large number of people applying for SVA over the next couple of months, whether their builds are completely ready or
not. I know I am, I have sent my forms to Swansea last week, hoping that when Nottingham ring me for the appointment I can get one in February, which
gives me a finite date to aim at. So my advice is send them now, you can always delay up to the end of April IF they have a spare slot.
