A few days ago I posted a request for the thread size of a LHD Escort quick ratio rack. Today after some time at the local NAPA parts store (motor factor) It was found that the required tie rods were from a Merkur XR4TI (Sierra). So for anyone using the above rack in North America the parts are readily available here. P.S The Sierra was sold in North America as a Merkur as Oldsmobile had use the name Cierra on their midsize cars in the 80's.
