Cycle Wings required?
Are they a legal requirement when out driving?

they are, but more than that, they actually stop a lot of stones hitting you

yip and I've been pulled a few times with just trailers wheels being uncovered. Too easy for the bobbys to spot to get away with it. In the
states there not needed.

yep - it is to do with exposed treads - Land Rovers with ultra wide mud tyres as well as Minis with Carlos Fandango tyres are cuplrits.
