missing engine no.
hi everyone.
my engine was rebuilt in 1987 and has been sat in my unfinished westy ever since (previous owners didn't finish). the problem is the block was
skimmed and engine number lost although i have the receipt for this exchange engine. will this be okay or has anyone got any suggestions as i want to
put my sva forms in and need a way of aging the block.

If your receipt shows an engine number then you need to stamp it onto the engine

What type of engine?? perhaps someone on here has a shagged block with an engine no that could help out.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Well I'd imagine there is enough of them with rods through the side for you to get a number somewhere. I used to have one about 25 years ago
(memories not that good for the number though).
I'm sure you'll get one somewhere no probs.

ont bother trying Ford- they just sent me a letter saying there is no way to confirm engine age without engine number. Casting numbers etc no good- so
i'm screwed!
