Built up Inspection Report
Hi
My local DVLA, Theale, seemed to suggest that I cannot put in the V627/1 on its own prior to SVA.
They seem to be saying they need all forms V55/5, V627/1, original V5, MAC, etc before they will see the car.
I have the SVA re-test next week and was trying to arrange it to get the car checked before hand so that I could get the registration asap.
Any advice ideas???
Cheers
Ian

My local DVLA also refused to have anything to do with registration before the car had passed sVA and I had all the paper work ready.
Seems like another example of local rules for each office.

the unhelpful lady at DVLA Swansea said the same today.... They would only give me an appointment, by post, once they had recieved all of the
documents (by post). I am trying to speak to the local office to see if they say the same thing!

I was lucky Nigel gave me a contact name for chester, took the paperwork in saw the guy, he did the first part of the paperwork took £180 or so to
cover tax and registration told me to bring the car back on the tuesday, checked the engine and chassis numbers, we then went into his office 20 min
latter I emerged with a tax disc and a letter to take to halfords for the plates. and no mot for 3 years seems the mot situation is up to the centres
interpratation.

They need the V55 and all the other documentation with it ... or some offices will take the V55 and whatever documents you've already got and
start the paper work, then leave it, pending you suppling the missing stuff. That allows you to supply the MAC later once you pass SVA (I didn't
send my ID with it either, just showed it at the inspection) and speeds up getting the reg'.
Pretty sure they need the V55 before/with anything else as thats got all your and the cars details and they just tick off boxes on the end of it as
they check your other documentation.
