SVA Retest Pass - Just Waiting on DVLA now.
SVA Retest Pass.
A huge thank you to all for the help, hints and the odd motivational kick up the backside, I finally got my zx12 stuart taylor through SVA retest on
Wednesday at Nottingham. The guy inspecting it was 100% by the book, but offered plenty of hypothetical suggestions and recommendations.
I dropped all the forms off at the Northampton DVLA office straight after, They seemed pretty spot on and checked all the forms whilst I was there.
They said they would aim to turn the application around within 72 hours so fingers crossed as Footman James have kindly insured the car on its VIN for
the last 9 weeks (as I bundled the car into SVA rather unfinished before the SVA deadline) but they really want the Reg. number by next Wed.
What have other people’s experiences been like with Northampton DVLA office, do you reckon I will know the .Reg by next Wed?!

Well done mate...
Its a great feeling when you pass these milestones.
Cant help with nottingham DVLA though.
Good one, and take it easy until you know how your car dirves.
You dont want a summer rebuild on your hands do you.
Well Done.

2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Congrats. Take it easy for a good little while (and even easier when it rains- my 7 aquaplanes like crazy in wet conditions)...

Hi Dave.
Well done on the pass mate.
When I had mine done at Northampton, (I trust they inspected it as well while you were there) they inspaeted on Thursday (IIRC, see my posts about it
in the Luego section) and I had my Number plate authority early in the following week.
Here's the linky linky to post thread
Hope this helps.
PS. where abouts are you in our area????

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Interestingly when I requested all the forms a couple of weeks ago, the guy in the dvla call center was convinced that I did not need to show the car
to the dvla to register it. I had the car in tow (literally!) when I took my forms into northampton DVLA and asked if they were sure that they
didn't need to see it, and they confirmed that they didn't need to see it and that they would aim to turn the application arround in 72
hours and send out the registration number details whith my i.d. by recorded delivery and the tax would follow within 2 weeks.
Is it because im aiming for a 09 plate with a declaration of newness? after reading all the posts on people registering cars nearly everyone has been
asked to show the car to their local dvla office.
I have also read here and on a few other sites that they have 72 hours from recieving the application (wed) to requesting to see the car, and they
haven't phoned yet!
has anyone else registered on a new plate without being asked to present the car to the dvla, If its a new reg and the MAC states the chassis number
and they have all my receipts maybe they won't ask to see it,
ahh well, hopefully tomorrow mornings post will bring a dvla envelope, fingers crossed!
