Fog Light IVA???
Just a quick question for this Sunday Morning.
Im trying to finish some wiring and not sure if the fog light has to work on both the dip and main beam. The loom i have lets me wire up for the side
and dip, but when the main goes on the fog light goes off.
Cheers
Steve

The fog light needs to work with dipped and main, side lights is a no no.
Adrian
will add more when I find the section
Got it
1. They must be operational
2. The correct number must be fitted to the vehicle (Table 1)
3. The lamp(s) must illuminate in conjunction with dipped beam.
4. The lamp(s) must illuminate in conjunction with main beam.
5. The lamp(s) must illuminate in conjunction with front fog lamps (if fitted).
6. They must not be affected by switching on or off any other lamps (except those
detailed in RS 3,4 and 5)
7. Must be capable of being switched off independently of any other lamp
Plus other bits section 28.
One of my fails as they could work with side.

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

That's interesting & must be a change from SVA, fog lights never used to work on production cars with main beam on, only dip beam.
It makes no sense to change this, you shouldn't have the fog lamp on unless in fog, in which case you don't want main beam on anyway!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

I always thought they could work with sidelights. Iv never owned a tintop or infact driven any vehicle where they didnt work with the side lights
aswell as dipped beam!

I suspect it's to protect the brainless, (and people unfortunate enough to be following them) who try putting main beam on in fog 'to see
if it makes things better' and would lose their fog lamps while they are driving 2/3's blind.
