Passed today.

Just got back from nottingham test station and have a pass certificate.
There were no real problems apart from needing to fit a couple of nut covers to the headlamp mounting nuts , adjusted the emissions and then finally had a problem with the speedo.it was under reading progressively slow until it was out by 10mph at 70.
As it had passed on everything else the tester suggested i try and do something with it to save a retest. So i removed the speedo face and pulled off the needle and re set to read 9mph at standstill , apparently it must read below 10mph when stationary. We then retested it and found to be within spec up to 70. I then put the car back on the trailer whilst the inspector wrote out the pass certificate.
It was no great ordeal and was actually quite an enjoyable experience.
I now just need to sort out the red tape at northampton VRO to get a number plate and tax.
I also will now be selling my trailer to finance the on the road costs and will put details in the for sale section.
Paul.

Nice one Paul.....

Was that at Watnall? That's you and Spunky this week. I used to go to a salvage yard just round the corner from the test station at Watnall but they didn't do SVA's then, only HGV tests. I had mine tested at Derby but Watnall is closer, only about 17 miles away.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Thanks Geoff
hopefully i will be in the car a week on Wednesday , dependent on the Northants VRO registration process.
Im not sure what i need to do next so am going to fill in forms as best I can and get insurance on the chassis number, in the hope that they will issue a tax disk over the counter on Tuesday.
