Home made DB killer that works

For years trying to quieten down my 7

and today i have, it is at least 30% quieter, and i dont seem to have affected performance to much
and if anything i think the cars drive's better, as its not so noisy !!

I can not photo the gubbens, as its stuck 3" up my exhaust, but it is basicly a large 50mm penny washer,
that ive ground down to 46mm wide, and the drilled loads of 4mm holes in it, plus it retains the original 13mm hole in the middle

Ive inserted about two golf ball sizes of loose wire wool into the rear pipe, and then put the washer in, and helped its way
up the exhaust with a socket and hammer, as its an interferance fit, i dont think it will fall out

I will experiment a bit more, as its too quiet now !!

As for IVA etc, i would imagine you could do something even if its only to pass the test

NOT that i can recomend it

i had that kind of setup on mine to get it through iva. eventually the wire wool compresses up against the washer and completely strangles and stalls the engine to the point where it wont run as i found out 15miles away from my house. only recommendation i can make to sort it once and for all is to fit a much much bigger can.
