VW/Seat engine age cert?

What are the VAG group like with proving engine age for IVA?

As easy as Ford are by any chance?

Think I've settled on a Cupra 225 BAM engine...

Err, I thought so,so that it had the right emission for the year? Instead of defaulting to 'present' settings?

Is my thinking there right?

It doesn't matter once you're past August 1995. From the manual;

quote:
If the “effective date” cannot be determined, it must be assumed to be on or after 1 August 1997.

As the engine is younger than that anyway, it's probably in your favour to not age the engine, and then it will be tested according to 'default' limits for a cat equipped car.

Assuming I've understood the emissions flowchart properly!

Hmmm the BAM is a nice engine. All forged internals. Should be good for 400hp with the right turbo
