Exhaust heat wrap

Now have my SVA date 15th Feb and only have a few things left to sort out.
One of them is covering the "sharp" (in SVA terms) bits of the exhaust system. I intend to wrap some rubber strips in aluminised cloth (see pic) and secure it round the exhaust clamp and silencer mountings with copper wire. Question is :

aluminised side of the cloth in contact with the hot exhaust or woven side in contact with the exhaust ?

woven side to the exhaust assuming it is glass fibreish. that stops conduction of heat. the aluminised side is to stop radiation of heat it would appear.
