SVA Chelmsford / Edminton

Went to the Chelmsford SVA center today to ask about booking as they've closed since December and meant to be re opening on June 1.

I was told that they are running behind with the building work and wont be open till August at the earliest.

The sva part will be min of a month after that.

No Happy.

My other nearest places are Gillingham and Norwich and the sva man said Edminton (north london) anyone heard of this center as its near me.

I went to Edmonton.

The guy there was great and really helpful. His approach was sensible and focussed on safety, rather than trying to fail me.

He even helped me set up the headlight aim.

I passed first time.

Cheers

Stu

Oooh! There's a name for people like you - and the second word is "stirrer"!

Back to the topic - Norwich is a good place, but probably a long haul for anyone in the heart of Essex (prob. OK from North Essex).

Edmonton is probably better from mid- or south Essex, but I wouldn't fancy crossing the M25 or driving on any of its approach roads in an untested car at the sort of time you usually have to turn up at a test centre! (usually around 08:00 - 08:30).

The Gillingham testers were more interested in my car than doing the test - and they test with lots of COMMON SENSE and none of the jobsworth attitude too.

Cheers guys, i hoping to use my mate with his van and trailer rather than drive there (Ive been spoilt with tom tom for 4 years im a nightmare without it ).

So gillingham or edmonton are about the same distance for me. Norwich is to far but thats where tiger do all theres and they are ment to be really helpful with them.

Looks like coin tossing time.

As for getting CALVINIX to kick ass, unless hes a builder / roofer / plumber as he needs to finish the building work at chelmsford new Test Center
