Headlight height

Ok, I've done a search and skimmed a PDF copy of SVA regs but can't find anything about headlight height.

Anyone know the minimum height of headlight centres to the ground?

Ah, but Steve, I wasn't interested then...

Thanks for the info....If I can easily position my lights to meet SVA and US requirements then it would stupid not to.....

Although my list of "stupid things I've done" is scarily long..........

Guys,

My understanding of the headlamp height rule is that the 'beam cut-off' point should be 500mm from the ground - this doesn't necessarily mean the lower edge of the lamp (have a look at 5 1/4 inch lenses and you will see a clear definition of where the beam cut off is).

Proof of this can be seen on the McLaren F1 road car, where the bottom of the lamps are sunk into the lamp housing to the point where the beam cut-off is.

Hope this helps. Sorry if it hinders!

Steve.

hi

that may all be true

BUT

it specifically states in writing in the SVA manual that the glass area must be no more than 400mm from the side and no less than 500mm from the ground.

I have a 2002 version SVA manual, so perhaps it has been reviewed?

Although, in saying that - the McLaren F1 was an early 90's car...
