Bloody dvla
They are a law unto themselves, and seem to make the rules up as they go along, even different people from the same office (and sometimes the same
people!) will tell you different rules. Unbelievable.
I was originally told I could drive the car to inspection, only then to be told by the other inspection officer I couldnt, then told I could by the
same bloke, and then he changed his mind again and said I couldnt. Needless to say the car had another 100mile round trip on the trailer today...
Then after the inspection the inspection officer said they would get all the paper work done while I waited and I would leave with my tax and reg....
now sitting here, with neither after being told a different story by the bloke on the counter... another few days wait now.
Plus stood and waited in the queue at the DVLA for an hour or more.
Cheesed off now

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Best aproach - get hold of 1 person and just deal with them. That way you should get consistancy...
The guy in Peterborough was a top bloke and if it wasn't for the fact it was 4 days to the end of the month I could have left with my tax disk -
just depends on how friendly the person you are dealing with is!
