build insurance
Hi,
I got quoted £73 per year by Adrian Flux for fire and theft + accident damage on my locost which I valued as worth £7k.
I'm not sure if it really is worth that, does that matter?
Also, is accidental damage worth having?
Anyone ever been paid out?
Thanks

If you project got stolen, £73 would seem cheap. I had build insurance at £42 a year, converted to road risk half way through and only had to pay an
additional £58 for the rest of the year.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

What i meant was, I am not sure my car is worth £7k, will they still give me that much if it goes up in flames, or is nicked?

I would think that in the case of a total loss claim they would want to see receipts to prove value.
So if you can proove value then 7 grand is ok.

I havn't got any proof of anything.
Thats the problem, I swapped a bike for a part built and I've got a few bits seperatly. No way I could prove anything.
Surely the premium is an agreed value? Otherwise what do they base the quote on?
I was more interested if the accident damage is worth having? Say I angle grinded through the chassis, would they buy a new chassis? Pay for the parts
to be stripped off old one and replaced onto new one?
Last posts I've seen on this seem to be from years ago, just wanted people opinions on how its been used over the years.
Thanks

This post finally made me think about my car sat in the garage – some one could drive it away if they broke in and its not insured.
Phoned several insurance companies. Some do build up insurance or laid up insurance , some don’t.
Adrian fluk was very poor - a noisy room with other conversations going on – the best they could do was £130
Finally got round to Footman jones – fire and theft insurance valued at £8000 for just £49.50
