sva test for age related plate
clutching at straws! have a 1992 westfield on a q plate have checked with westfield who supplied a new chassis in 1992. if i can prove the car has two
major component parts from a donor vehicle is the car eligible for an sva test and would a pass qualify for an age related plate? any thoughts lads

I doubt it, because the chassis is not 'new' - it's been driving round for the last 15 years!

Your car will have already passed an SVA test. The SVA test doesn't determine your plate, the registration process does that. Legally, you
cannot change the registration plate already issued and besides, why would you want to?

personal plate as a gift was the reason
but as the legal process emerges more clearly it seems i have to stay qd thanks anyway

It probably didn't need to have an SVA test if it was finished not long after 1992.
I think that if you can retrospectively prove that it has at least 2 components from a donor the DVLA may issue a new age-related plate, but I'm
betting it will be a hassle and not high up their priorities. Not sure if there is an official process, or if you can write to them along the lines of
you have new evidence. They might be a bit sceptical after all this time though!

There is a legal way around it. Declare your vehicle as scrapped and hand in your V5C to DVLA, then get your newly built Westfield  inspected and a
new chassis number issued. Pass the SVA and then register your [cough] new [/cough] vehicle providing the documentation for the donor parts required
to get you an age related plate.
Okay, so it might cost you a few hundred quid to do it but if you really want that personalised plate...........
